The 61-year-old German lauded praise on his players and also on Cristiano Ronaldo's pressing abilities in a press conference after the game on Sunday, December 5th, 2021, on BBC Sports. There have been reports in the media after the appointment of Rangnick that the Portuguese will find it difficult to press because of his age.

The Red Devils for the first time in a while dominated the game from the start to finish and won the possession battle and pass completed in the game.

I am very happy with the way the team performed, especially in the first half-hour, with the pressing, it was exceptional. The only thing missing was the 1-0 or 2-0. The way we defended, we had control of the whole game, the clean sheet was the most important part. These are things we must improve. We need to keep clean sheets. With just one training sessions, I was really impressed. We did much better than expected. We always tried to be on the front foot. We were never not part from maybe the last five minutes. At all other times we were trying to keep them away from our goal. We wanted to play with two strikers, especially in the central position. By the way, Cristiano Ronaldo's work off the ball. Chateau.

Manchester United have won two consecutive games in the league for the first time in a while. The clean sheet against Palace is also the first clean sheet at Old Trafford since April 2021.
