The 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup will go down in history as one of the most entertaining and one that was filled with a lot of upset.

It was a World Cup that had a lot of twists and turns from the start of the competition until the final kick. However, Notjustok has decided to highlight the five major talking points from the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The history of the 2022 FIFA World Cup will not be complete without this opening group game that shook the world of football. Argentina we're favorites to win the game because of the experience that the South Americans had over the Arabians.

The Albiceleste, unbeaten in 36 matches over the past three years, went ahead with a 10th-minute penalty from captain Lionel Messi. The Argentines were made to pay for not putting the game to bed in the second half as Saudi Arabia first leveled from Saleh Al-Shehri and then went in front in the space of five minutes with a goal from Salem Al-Dawsari. Saudi Arabia won the game 2-1.

(2) Germany and Belgium:

The World Cup gave a lot of shocking results proving the bookmakers wrong. However, Germany and Belgium were two of the teams that football fans across the world expected to go far in the tournament.They did not live up to the expectations as they failed to qualify for the second round.

Germany won their opening game against Costa Rica but failed to get a victory in their last two games against Spain and Japan. The Germans finished the group with four points which was not enough to see them get out of the group.

Belgium also finished with four points from their group. The Red Devils failed to win their opening two games, picking up a draw against Croatia and losing against Morocco. However, they won their final group game against Canada but it was not enough to see them advance to the second round.

(3) Morocco

The North Africans were the dark horses of the 2022 FIFA World Cup following their triumph at the competition. Morocco made their presence felt when they defeated Belgium in the second group game of the competition against all odds.

The Atlas Lions as they are popularly called wrote their name in the history books of the competition as they became the first African team to reach the Semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup.

Morocco will not only be remembered for their victory over Belgium, Spain, and Portugal by football fans but also for their style of play. They finished fourth in the competition following their defeat to Croatia in the third-place match.

(4) Cristiano Ronaldo:

The former Manchester United player was in the news for all the wrong reasons heading into the Qatar2022 World Cup. Ronaldo's contract with Manchester United following his interview with Piers Morgan was released on the Internet.

Ronaldo also made the headline at the World Cup after he was caught on camera saying some words to the coach of Portugal, Fernando Santos in the game against South Korea. This to him starting the game against Switzerland and Morocco in the Round of 16 and Quarter final respectively.

The little magician as he is popularly called showed the world why he is the greatest player of all time. The forward player completed the puzzle of his trophy cabinet by leading Argentina to victory at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Messi also broke records at the competition, he currently is Argentina's highest goal scorer in the World Cup beating Gabriel Batistuta's record. He is also the first man in history to win the Golden ball at two World Cups ( 2014, 2022). The PSG forward player scored seven goals, he was just a goal behind his club's teammate, Kylian Mbappe.
