The world has continued to react to the death of Brazil's football legend, Edson Arantes Nascimento popularly known as Pele.

The latest body to make a decision on the death of Pele is the English Premier League. The body announced that a minute's silence will be observed before all match day 18 fixtures.

The announcement was made on its official Twitter account on Friday, December 30th, 2022. Players and officials will also wear black armbands in honor of Pele.

In tribute to Pele, Premier League clubs will remember his contribution to football during Matchweek 18 (Dec 30-Jan 1) by holding a minute’s applause prior to kick-offs. Players and match officials will wear black armbands.

17-year-old Pele helped Brazil win the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. He is the only player to win the World Cup three times, lifting the trophy in 1958, 1962, and 1970.
