Premier League January Transfer Window in Financial Numbers | Read

The January transfer window was introduced in the 2002/2003 season to help football clubs salvage their season in case their season is not going as planned.

The English Premier League we're the most busiest during this season's transfer window ( 2021/22). Most of the transfer business was done by the bottom five clubs in the league.
The total amount spent was £295 million which is four times higher than the money that was spent during last year's January transfer window. This is also the second-highest January transfer window since it was introduced.
The Net expenditure for the monies spent was £180 million, this is also the highest since the window was introduced. The bottom five clubs in the premier league spent £150 million which is more than 50 % of the total money spent.
