Premier League Announce Player of the Month Nominees for August 2022

The Premier League have announced the nominees for the Player of the month for August 2022.

The body made the announcement of the nominated players on its official website on Thursday, September 8th, 2022. Eight players have been shortlisted for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award after producing outstanding performances in August 2022.

Manchester City's Erling Haaland was the expected name on the list for the award following his amazing form for the Cityzens. He scored a record nine goals, the most by a player after only five Premier League appearances. He also became just the sixth player to net a hat-trick in consecutive matches in the competition.

Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus also made this list following his performance since he joined the Gunners during the 2022 summer transfer window. The Brazilian was involved in six goals in August breaking Mesut Ozil's record of five.

Other players on the list include; Fulham's Alexander Mitrovic who scored five goals in his four games for the London side his goals were against tough oppositions like Arsenal and Liverpool. Arsenal's captain, Martin Odegaard, Leeds Rodrigo Moreno, Crystal Palace's Wilfred Zaha, Newcastle United's Nick Pope and Brighton's Pascal Gross are all on the list.
