Premier League announce nominees for September 2023 Player of the Month
The Premier League body has announced seven players for the Player of the Month award for September 2023.
The shortlisted players were announced on the official website of the league on Thursday, October 5, 2023. This award is always given to a player who emerges with the highest number of votes by the members of the public and a group of football experts.
The captain of Tottenham Hotspur, Son Heung-Min has been fantastic this season for Spurs having lost Harry Kane in the 2023 summer transfer window. His six goals helped Spurs remain unbeaten and end the month in second place, only one point behind leaders Man City.
Manchester City's Julian Alvarez has taken a lot of the goal-scoring responsibility off Erling Haaland who has struggled in front of goal this season. The Argentinian was directly involved in four goals in as many matches in September, scoring two and setting up two, showing his ability to create whenever he plays for the Cityzens.
Liverpool's Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah also got himself a good shout as part of the nominees for the award. He has two goals and two assists and created 11 chances for his team-mates in four matches in September.
