Pochettino shakes things up in starting lineup for Liverpool vs Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino seems to be sticking to his word regarding how victory is important for his side as the recent starting lineup shows his approach to the midweek premier league fixture Liverpool vs Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino has decided to stick with most of his starting line-up from the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa in the FA Cup, as we prepare to face Liverpool in the Premier League tonight. The only change in the team is in defence, where Ben Chilwell returns as captain, replacing Alfie Gilchrist.

Gilchrist was a last-minute addition to the team against Villa due to an injury to Levi Colwill. Chilwell will be joined in the back line by Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, and Thiago Silva. Djordje Petrovic will continue as our goalkeeper.

The rest of the team remains unchanged, with Conor Gallagher, Moises Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez forming the midfield trio. Cole Palmer is expected to lead the attack, with Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke on the flanks.

Cesare Casadei is on the Blues bench for the first time in a competitive fixture following his recent return from his loan spell at Leicester City in the early days of the January 2024 transfer window.

Here is the starting line up for both sides below:

Liverpool: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Jones, Jota, Bradley.

Subs: Kelleher, Gakpo, Elliott, Robertson, Gravenberch, Clark, McConnell, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah.

Chelsea: Petrovic, Disasi, Thiago Silva, Badiashile, Chilwell (c), Gallagher, Caicedo, Enzo, Madueke, Palmer, Sterling

Substitutes: Bergstrom, Gilchrist, Gusto, Casadei, Chukwuemeka, Mudryk, Nkunku, Broja, Washington
