Cameroon injury update ahead of AFCON round of 16

Recent reports have brought exciting news for Cameroon's football fans, as their captain Vincent Aboubakar has recovered from the injury that sidelined him during the group stages of AFCON 2023. This development is a significant boost to the Indomitable Lions' hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals, as they prepare to face off against their fierce rivals, Nigeria's Super Eagles, in a highly anticipated round of 16 fixture.

In addition to Aboubakar's return, another key player, winger Clinton N'Jie, has also resumed training after his injury. N'Jie's pace and creativity could prove to be crucial for Cameroon's attacking play against Nigeria's defence. With both players back in contention for selection, Cameroon's coach will have some tough decisions to make as he looks to field the strongest possible lineup.

Both stars have not been available for Cameroon since the commencement of AFCON 2023 and as such their addition to the squad serves as a huge boost ahead of the must-win fixture against Nigeria.

Song also confirmed that he has no issues with his goalkeepers amidst questions as to whether Andre Onana will be in goal for his side in the Nigeria vs Cameroon fixture.
