The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has written his name in the history books of the UEFA Champions League.

The Spaniard led Manchester City to their second successive Semi-final by edging out Atletico Madrid on goal aggregate on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022. This means that Guardiola has reached the semi-final of the most lucrative competition nine times, a feat no other manager has achieved before.

The 50-year-old achieved this feat four times with Barcelona in ( 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012), three times with Bayern Munich ( 2014, 2015, 2016) and now with Manchester City ( 2021,2022).

Manchester City will face Real Madrid for a spot in the final of the most lucrative club competition.
