Pep Guardiola Reveals Why Joao Cancelo left Manchester City

The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has explained why Joao Cancelo joined Bayern Munich.

Guardiola was speaking at a press conference ahead of the match day 22 fixture against Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium. He said the Portuguese lack of game time was the reason he left the Premier League Champions.

Cancelo always wants to play, he needs to play to be happy. He wants to play every single game and hopefully, he can at Bayern. I don’t know what will happen next season with João. I won't say a bad word, his work ethic, passion, and skills.

Cancelo joined Bayern Munich on loan during the 2023 January transfer window for the rest of the season. However, there is a buy clause of £71 million in the deal.
