Pep Guardiola Equals Jose Mourinho UEFA Champions League Record

The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has found himself in the part of the history books that he doesn't want to be part of.

Guardiola equalled the record held by Jose Mourinho for the most defeats suffered in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The Spaniard lost two semifinals while he was at Barcelona during the 2009-10 and 2011-12,( 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 with Bayern Munich); the joint-most of any manager.

He lost his sixth semi-final game in the game against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022. Th Cityzens lost the second leg 3-1 and 6-5 on aggregate.

The last time Guardiola won the Champions League was when he was the manager of Barcelona.
