Paul Pogba's agent breaks silence on his player's current situation

The agent of former Manchester United player, Paul Pogba has given an update on the current situation facing the player.

The French international was provisionally suspended by the anti-doping agency in Italy, NADO, which is in charge of anti-doping offences. Paul Pogba was summoned for testing following Juventus' 3-0 win over Udinese on August 20, 2023, he tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone.

Pogba's agent, Rafaela Pimenta, released a statement to Sky Sports News on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

"We are waiting for the counter analysis and until then we can't say anything. The certain thing is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rules."

Juventus have also released a statement concerning the current situation of the midfielder.

"Juventus Football Club announces that today the player Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the adverse outcome of the analyses carried out on 20 August 2023. The Company reserves the right to evaluate the next procedural steps."

Pogba is expected to undergo a second round of testing in order to determine a definitive result. Should he return another positive test, he will then be tried by the National Anti-Doping Tribunal and could face a playing ban of up to four years, according to FIFA's rules.
