Favour Ofili has silenced her doubters after she booked an automatic ticket to the final of the 200-meter events at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic games.

The Nigerian sprinter achieved this feat in her 200-meter semi-final race which she ran on Monday, August 5, 2024. Favour Ofili came second place with a time of 22.05s which is her season's best behind 100 meters winner, Julien Alfred who won the race, crossing the line in a time of 21.98s.

Ofili is the first Nigerian to qualify for the Women’s 200-meter final for the first time in 28 years since Mary Onyali achieved this feat in Atlanta in 1996.

Nigerians will hope that she will finish in the position that would guarantee her a medal in the finals.
