Bayern Munich completes its second signing of the season

Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Joao Palhinha from Fulham on a four-year deal, which will keep him at the club at least until June 2028 for £42.3m, plus £4.2m in add-ons.

Bayern Munich confirmed that Joao Palhinha joins the club on a long term deal which was announced on its official website on Thursday, July 11, 2024. The Portugal international completed his move to the Bundesliga club a year after the initial attempt to bring him to Germany.

Palhinha expressed his excitement on Bayern Munich's website concerning his move to join the club.

He said,

"This is one of the happiest days of my life. I am m now playing for one of the top clubs in Europe. It's a dream come true for me, and I'm very proud of that."

Palhinha made 79 appearances over two seasons in Fulham, scoring just goals. He was part of Portugal's squad that played the Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup, and this summer’s Euro 2024 in Germany, where his team reached the quarter-finals. Palhinha has 31 caps for Portugal (two goals).
