OFFICIAL: Jesse Marsch Appointed Manager of Leeds United

Leeds United have confirmed the appointment of former Leipzig coach, Jesse Marsch as a replacement for Marcelo Bielsa who was recently sacked by the club.

The news was confirmed on Leeds United's website on Monday, February 28th, 2022. The American left his position as coach of Red Bull Salzburg after five months in charge of the club last year (2021) December.

, Leeds United Director of Football Victor Orta said: “We are delighted to welcome Jesse to the club and excited for him to lead us into this new chapter.

“Jesse is someone we identified a number of years ago during his time at Red Bull Salzburg and we believe his philosophy and style of football aligns with that of the club and will suit the players very well.

“We have a long-term plan and firmly believe he can take Leeds United to the next level and are excited for what the future holds.”

March will bring a lot of experience into the Leeds United team, he was assistant to Ralf Rangnick at RB Leipzig before he was appointed manager of RB Salzburg in June 2019 where he won a league and cup double in his first season. He will be officially announced by the Premier League club when his working permit gets sorted.

Leeds are currently 16th on the Premier League table with two points off the relegation zone.
