Augustine Eguavoen Steps Down as Super Eagles' Technical Director

Augustine Eguavoen has stepped down from his position as the technical director of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The news was confirmed on the official website of the Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday, March 31st, 2022. According to reports from the statement, Eguavoen decided to step down from his position following the team's failure to book a spot for the 2022 FIFA World Cup that will be hosted in Qatar.

The federation has also confirmed that the contract of all the coaching crew has also been terminated with immediate effect. All the coaching crew were initially placed on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

They also confirmed that a new crew will be announced after a proper review to lead the new charge of reinvigorating the Super Eagles to face future challenges appropriately.
