Atletico Madrid has completed the signing of Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy next transfer summer for 40m. Atleti was able to seal the deal after Saul Niguez completed his loan move to Chelsea on an initial loan with the option to buy the Spaniard for 39m.
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official Twitter account on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021. Griezmann has agreed to a two-year deal with an option to extend. This will be the second time Griezmann will work with Simeone, both parties worked together between 2014 and 2019.
The French striker should have no problem settling in the Madrid team. His combination with Luis Suarez will make Atletico Madrid a force in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
Griezmann joined Atletico Madrid from Real Sociedad in 2014. He scored 94 goals in 180 games for the Madrid team. He then joined Barcelona in 2019.
