Meet the nominees for December 2024 Premier League player of the year
The Premier League has announced the final nominees for December 2024's best player of the month, following impressive performances for their respective clubs.
Eight players were nominated from the pool of players who showed their class during the games that were played in the Premier League in December 2024. The list was dominated by two players each from Liverpool and Newcastle United while Fulham, Chelsea, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest had one representative each.
Who are the nominees for Premier League December 2024 Player of the Month?
(1) Trent Alexander-Arnold:
The Liverpool defender helped the Premier League leaders go unbeaten through six matches to end December eight points clear at the top. Alexander-Arnold got a goal and three assists, as well as contributed to a clean sheet in a month that featured matches against Manchester City, Newcastle United, Fulham, and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Egyptian King has been key in helping Liverpool maintain their top spot in the Premier League. He scored 14 goals in six December matches, the joint-most goal involvements produced by a Premier League player in a single month, matching Luis Suarez's record from December 2013.
(3) Cole Palmer:
Cole Palmer will be looking to win the award for the third time in five attempts, after five goals and an assist in seven matches for Chelsea. The 22-year-old created 20 chances in December, which is the most of any Premier League player.
(4) Antonee Robinson
The American defender assisted four goals from defence, creating 13 chances, the second-most among Premier League defenders. He was key to helping Fulham go through seven matches without defeat in December.
(5) Morgan Gibbs-White
Gibbs-White was impressive for Nottingham Forest who ended December second in the table, the first time they've been that high since 1994. Gibbs-White was involved in five goals in the month, contributing a goal or an assist in four of his six appearances.
(6) Alexander Isak:
The Swedish international scored eight goals in total in six games which he played in December, including a hat-trick against Ipswich Town.
The other players on the list include Dean Huijsen on Bournemouth and Jacob Murphy of Newcastle United.
