Following initial speculations about his future at Atletico Bilbao, the latest update on the future of Nico Williams according to transfer news has captured the attention of football fans, especially in his country of nationality, Spain.

According to reports, Barcelona has made an offer to Williams and is now working to agree on terms, despite ongoing interest from English clubs. Barcelona moved closer to signing Nico Williams on Wednesday when sporting director Deco met with the Athletic Club star’s agent, Félix Tainta, in Zaragoza.

The meeting which was believed to have lasted for several hours, was arranged at the request of President Joan Laporta, who is keen to finalize the transfer quickly. Laporta has stated that the club has the necessary finances to sign Williams and is in a hurry to complete the deal.

Williams is the club’s top priority, and Barcelona is reportedly prepared to offer him a five-year contract similar to the one given to Robert Lewandowski.
