Newcastle United's aspiration of surviving relegation in the Premier League this season suffered another blow following injury to Kieran Trippier.
The news was confirmed on the website of Newcastle United on Monday, February 14th, 2022. According to the news, the English left-back suffered a broken foot after the victory against Aston Villa.
Trippier who joined the Magpies from Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window on a permanent deal has been in great form since he arrived at the club. The player has scored in two consecutive games which has been key in their fight to survive relegation.
The extent to which the player will be out was not confirmed but he will miss the next game against West Ham United at the London Stadium. Newcastle fans will hope Trippier is fit after the game against the Hammers.
The Magpies have won three consecutive games which put them 17th on the league table, four points ahead of Norwich City.
