Newcastle vs Man United: Why did Amorim drop Andre Onana?

The reason behind Ruben Amorim's decision to leave Andre Onana out of the Newcastle vs Man United Premier League squad has been revealed.
Andre Onana has been dropped from Manchester United's squad for their Premier League clash against Newcastle at St James' Park. Manager Ruben Amorim made the decision to sideline Onana following his costly mistakes during United's 2-2 draw with Lyon in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper did not travel with the team to Newcastle, with Altay Bayindir stepping in to make his Premier League debut. Onana's errors were pivotal in Lyon's two goals during the midweek match. However, he is expected to return for the second leg at Old Trafford on Thursday, unless Bayindir's performance secures him the starting spot.
Questions have been asked as to the reason behind Ruben Amorim's decision to leave Andre Onana out of the Newcastle vs Man United travelling squad have been raised and according to reports the reasons for this decision can be atrributed to him having a difficult week both on and off the pitch.
According to Fbarizio Romano, 'André Onana won’t even be on the bench for Man United today as Rúben Amorim wanted him to disconnect from football after difficult week. Amorim told Onana about his decision after OL game, while the GK is expected to return as part of the squad on Thursday for the 2nd leg.'
The Mirror UK revealed that Onana's wife had been a victim of a street robbery which saw his family require a 24 hour protection aside from his issues on the pitch.
