Napoli's director gives update on Victor Osimhen's release clause

The 2024 summer transfer window will always be remembered for the transfer saga between Napoli and Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international was keen a move away from the Serie A club after things broke out between himself and Napoli earlier in the 2023/24 season. However, both parties reached an agreement as Victor Osimhen was sent on loan to Turkish based side, Galatasaray for the rest of the 2024/25 season with his release clause reduced from £120 million to £65 million.

Napoli director, Giovanni Miana, confirmed in a statement that the club are aware of the forward player release clause and they will move to ensure everything get sorted unlike the previous season.

"It is true that Victor Osimhen has a release clause into his contract. We were working to find a solution as soon as possible to avoid a late transfer as happened last summer."

There are a lot of top clubs interested in signing Osimhen but the player has not given an hint as to where he will be playing his football next season.
