The most expensive player in the history of the English Premier League, Moises Caicedo has completed his move to the home of a two-time UEFA Champions League winner.

The Blues confirmed the signing of the midfielder on its official website on Monday, August 14, 2023. The Ecuadorian International made the move from Brighton to Chelsea for a record transfer fee of £115 million overtaking the amount that the Blues bought Enzo Fernandez's from Benfica.

Chelsea are expected to pay £100 million upfront plus £15 million in potential add-ons, Brighton will also hold a sell-on clause as part of the deal. The 21-year-old signed an eight-year deal with Chelsea, which means he will remain at Stamford Bridge until the 2031 summer transfer window with an option to extend by an extra year.

Moises Caicedo expressed his excitement on the club's website, according to him, Chelsea is the perfect choice for him.

"I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me, I just knew I wanted to sign for the club. It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait to get started with the team".

He made 43 appearances for the Seagulls during the 2022/23 season, who recorded their best-ever Premier League finish of sixth. Caicedo was crucial to that success and was named the club’s Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season.
