The manager of Arsenal Football Club, Mikel Arteta has confirmed that David Raya will not be in goal when his team faces Brentford.

Mikel Arteta confirmed this while speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against the Bees. According to the Premier League law states that a player cannot face his parent club while on loan.

This means that Aaron Ramsdale will be in goal for the Gunners, he will be hoping for a fantastic performance when he stays in between the goalpost against Brentford. The England international has not played a league game for Arsenal since September 3, 2023, which was against Manchester United.

Recall that Ramsdale had initially expressed his disappointment in losing his spot to Raya but was looking forward to getting his place back.

"But, of course, I want to get back into my club team. I want to get into my club team and be able to give the manager a headache rather than just have Jordan as the number one and I fall by the wayside. First and foremost, I've got to give the manager a decision and be available to be picked and that is by getting back into my club team. If that's not the case, then we'll see in three or four weeks.”

Arsenal fans will be hoping for maximum points from the game no matter the goalkeeper in the post.
