Mikel Arteta Fears Another Player Might be Ruled Out of Manchester City Clash
The manager of Arsenal Football Club, Mikel Arteta has given an update on his team list ahead of the title decider against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal will be without William Saliba after he suffered an injury in the Europa League Round of 16 clash against Sporting Lisbon. Arteta also confirmed that the Gunners are trying to see if Granit Xhaka will be available for the Cityzens.
The Swiss midfielder missed Friday’s dramatic 3-3 draw against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium due to illness. Arteta revealed that Xhaka faced a late fitness test to determine whether he would be able to play against City.
Hopefully, he [Xhaka] will be able to train today. He's still a doubt.
Arteta also spoke about the pressure that has been placed on the game between both teams by football fans around the world.
We wanted to close that gap as much as we could and we’re toe-to-toe with them [City]. We knew we had to go to the Etihad. Is it going to define the season? The answer is no.
Arsenal are five points ahead of Manchester City with the Cityzens having played two games less.
