Mike Arteta Gives Update on Aubameyang | Read

The manager of Arsenal Football Club, Mikel Arteta has given an update on the current situation of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.

The Gabonese captain was released by his country following his health condition after testing positive for coronavirus ahead of the African Cup of Nations. Arteta was speaking in a press conference ahead of the second leg semi-final game of the Carabao Cup against Liverpool.

Arteta confirmed that Aubameyang is back at Arsenal but the club will have to monitor his health before he can be brought back into the team. The striker was stripped of his captain armband and frozen out of the team following an indiciplinary action.

He is in London, he contracted COVID so he is back here.

He also answered the question of ever seeing the striker play for Arsenal again.

We need to make sure the player's health is in the best possible condition then we will see what happens.

The Spaniard also ruled out the news making the rounds that Arsenal intentionally took advantage of the coronavirus to ask their North London Derby against Tottenham postponed.
