Meet your Premier League manager of the month for December 2023

The manager of Aston Villa, Unai Emery, has been named the best manager in the Premier League for December 2023.

The former Arsenal manager was named the winner of the award following his impressive performance with Aston Villa this season, which led them to second on the league table behind Liverpool, who occupy the first position. The announcement was made on the official website of the Premier League on Friday, January 12, 2024.

Aston Villa lost only one of their seven matches in December 2023 which included back-to-back clean-sheet victories over both Manchester City and Arsenal. He also led them to a remarkable turnaround win at Brentford, and an even later 3-2 victory over Burnley that extended Villa's unbeaten home Premier League run to 17 matches.

He won the award by beating Andoni Iraola, Jurgen Klopp and David Moyes.
