Mauricio Pochetinno's first words as Chelsea manager

The manager of Chelsea Football Club, Mauricio Pochettino has sent a message to the supporters of the club for the first time since he was announced by the club.

The Argentine spoke to the media team of Chelsea on his first day of resumption in office on Monday, July 3, 2023. Mauricio Pochettinho promised to bring back the club's glory days after a disappointing 2022/23 football season across all competitions.

"It’s a pleasure and an honour to now be involved with Chelsea Football Club. We are so excited and you know, I know very well Chelsea is one of the greatest clubs in the world. It's exciting for us and what we want is to bring the happiness again to this great football club. We'll work hard, play in a way the fans can enjoy football, and the history of Chelsea is to win. In the last 10, 12, 15 years, Chelsea is the greatest team in England. I know very well the Premier League and what the culture of Chelsea means. I think our fans are excited to again be on the road of trying to win. There are always up and downs… but Chelsea is a club that it is impossible to have these up and downs. We need to be sure that we bring what the club needs to be at the top because the history of the club is to be at the top."

He also spoke about what the supporters should expect from Chelsea going into the new season.

"I always believe that together we can achieve everything – you can’t put a limit. We are going to try to fight with this to be all together on a fantastic journey together. We need leaders, not followers, in every single area and we will push every person to bring their best and give their best for the club."

Chelsea supporters will hope for a better outing when the new season kicks off. They will also expect him to bring the experience he had during his time with Tottenham and Paris Saint Germain.
