The news was confirmed on Manchester United's official website on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021. According to reports from the club, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Fred were among the players that showed up for training.

The decision to close down the training ground was after the virus infected some first-team players after the club's 1-0 victory against Norwich on Saturday, December 11th, 2021. This decision led to the Premier League postponing the games against Brentford and Brighton.

Ralf Rangnick will hope more players are fit for the club's next Premier League game against Newcastle United and Burnley on December 27th and December 30th, 2021, respectively.
