Manchester United reportedly set to open talks with Wolves defender

Manchester United are not wasting time as they begin their quest to build a formidable team as they have began talks with Wolves defender, Nelson Semedo.

The Red Devils are close to sealing a deal with Wolves forward player Matheus Cunha who will mostly be their first signing of the club ahead of the 2025/26 season. The Brazilian forward is expected to join United permanently after a standout campaign at Molineux, with the club ready to trigger his release clause.

Football transfer confirmed that Nelson Semedo’s name was dismissed internally the right-back emerging as a viable free-agent option.He is expected to leave Wolves when his contract expires at the end of June 2025, despite being offered a four-year extension by the Midlands side.

Semedo has made over 180 appearances for Wolves since joining for €32 million in 2020 and he is conversant with the Premier League-proven and could provide depth and experience at Old Trafford. Manchester United are yet to reach a formal agreement with Semedo, but the opportunity to land both players will be a big boost in United's quest to have a fantastic season.
