The indicipline that is being showed by some players at Manchester United since Erik Ten Hag took over at the club has been a major concern to some of the supporters at the club.

Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo were both guilty of showing an act of indiscipline to Ten Hag which led to them leaving the club after things were not sorted between both parties. However, the latest player to be on that list is Marcus Rashford, the England international called in sick which saw him miss the FA Cup game away against Newport on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

The statement released by Manchester United confirmed that Rashford has taken responsibility for his actions, after he was seen in nightspots in Northern Ireland on Wednesday and Thursday evening.

The statement read thus;

“Marcus has taken responsibility for his action, this has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed."

Recall that this is not the first time Rashford has been in trouble with the club this season. He was dropped from the starting line-up for their Carabao Cup fourth-round defeat by Newcastle in November as a disciplinary measure.

The manager, Ten Hag was unhappy at him being seen out celebrating his birthday after the Red Devils lost 3-0 in the Manchester derby. Rashford is available for selection when the Red Devils play Wolves in the league on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
