Manchester United reach agreement for the sale of Harry Maguire

The supporters of Manchester United Football can finally breathe a sigh of relief concerning the future of Harry Maguire.

Manchester United and West Ham United have agreed on a deal in principle for Harry Maguire before the end of the 2023 summer transfer window. According to reports, the Hammers will pay £30 million for the player, however, the success of the deal is dependent on the payment structure between both clubs and personal terms.

This would bring an end to his four-year stint at Old Trafford, after joining the club for a record £80m fee for a defender from Leicester City in 2019. The Red Devils previously rejected a £20m move from the Hammers for Maguire.

The English defender has been on the wrong side of the club's supporters since he joined the Red Devils from the foxes. He lost his place in the team's starting lineup following the arrival of Erik Ten Hag last season ( 2022/23).

He was recently stripped of his captain's armband before the start of the new season. This will be the best thing for Maguire if the deal sees the light of day.
