Manchester United issues official statement on Antony's situation

Manchester United have released an official statement on the recent physical abuse allegations that have been made against Antony.

The club released a statement concerning their stand on the player's situation on its official website on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. It acknowledged the allegations made against Antony in the statement released and also affirmed that the Police are conducting inquiries into the situation.

"Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the Police are conducting enquiries. Pending further information, the club will be making no further comments. As a club, we are taking this matter seriously, with consideration of the impact these allegations and subsequent reporting will have on survivors of abuse."

The Brazilian Football Association have decided to suspend Antony from the national team pending when the Police are done with investigations. However, the midfielder has maintained his ground that he is innocent of all the allegations he has been accused of by his ex-girlfriend.
