The 2023/24 season can be summed up as a disaster for Manchester United supporters even though the campaign is not halfway through.

The Red Devils lost both Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw in the first half of their UEFA Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
Both players have joined defenders, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Tyrell Malacia, midfielders Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount and winger Amad Diallo.

Maguire pulled up with a groin problem in the first half of the match and was replaced in defence by Jonny Evans, while Shaw picked up a hamstring strain towards the end of the first half with Aaron Wan-Bissaka coming on to replace him.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial missed the Bayern game through illness, while Jadon Sancho is still being left out by Erik ten Hag. Bruno Fernandes will also be out of the game against Liverpool for picking up his fifth yellow card in the Premier League.
