Manchester City are reportedly set to beat Arsenal in a bid to sign Declan Rice from London-based side, West Ham United.

The Cityzens are looking to find a possible replacement for Ilkay Gundogan who left the treble winners as a free agent to join Barcelona. There are reports that Declan Rice is open to joining any club as far as they can meet to valuation which has been placed on the player.

Arsenal recently submitted a bid of £75 million plus £15 million add-ons for the Hammers captain but they did not reach the valuation which has been placed on the midfielder.

The wages of Rice is not expected to be a problem as Rice is expected to become one of the parties that have reached an agreement. He might be one of the highest-paid players at Arsenal, according to reports he might earn at least £ 200,000 per week.

Rice has been a key part of West Ham's success in the past few seasons. He also led them to a first European trophy for the first time since winning the European Cup Winners Cup in 1965.
