Manchester City equalled the record held by Manchester United in the English FA Cup, a record which they would have opted out of If they had a chance.

Manchester City became the first team since the Red Devils to lose three consecutive FA Cup semi-final games after United from 1963-1964 to 1965-1966. The Cityzens equalled this record in their FA Cup semi-final game against Liverpool at Wembley Sium on Saturday, April 17th, 2022.

City lost the 2019/20 semi-final 2-0 against Arsenal, then lost the 2020/21 season 1-0 against Chelsea, revelry lost the 2021/22 season 3-2 against Liveepool. Manchester City's quest to win a treble has ended, they will have to focus on winning the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
