Man United legend reacts to Kane's penalty in England vs Netherlands fixture
Man United legend has reacted to the penalty awarded to Harry Kane in the England vs Netherlands Euro 2024 semi-finals fixture.
Manchester United legend and pundit Gary Neville strongly disapproved of the decision to award England a penalty in their Euro 2024 semi-final match against the Netherlands.
Pundits Gary Neville and Ian Wright had a heated debate over the incident, where Denzel Dumfries was judged to have fouled Harry Kane inside the penalty area. Wright labelled Dumfries' action as "reckless," while Neville condemned the decision as "absolutely disgraceful."
In the match, the Netherlands almost took the lead when Denzel Dumfries' header struck the crossbar before halftime.
After the break, the Dutch team dominated, and it took crucial saves from England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to keep the score level. Harry Kane's penalty equalized Xavi Simons' earlier goal for the Netherlands. England ultimately triumphed with a late goal from substitute Ollie Watkins, assisted by another substitute, Chelsea's Cole Palmer.

Neville firmly believed that the penalty decision was incorrect, stating: "To have that given against me as a penalty at any time, let alone in such an important game, is outrageous. Dumfries simply went in naturally to block the shot. It's not a penalty for me. It's nowhere near a penalty. I must say, there weren't many England players appealing for it either."
With this victory, England advanced to the finals, where they will face Spain in the Euro 2024 tournament.
