Liverpool Football Club are racing against time concerning the fitness of Mohamed Salah before the Reds face Manchester City in one week's time.

Salah picked up an injury in Egypt's opening game at the Africa Cup of Nations and he has been struggling to get back to fitness. He featured for the Reds against Brentford when he was brought in as a replacement for Diogo Jota.

Liverpool's manager, Jurgen Klopp gave an update on the winger's injury while speaking ahead of this weekend's league game against Nottingham Forest.

He said,

"Mo Salah will not be ready to play tomorrow but he’s on the way back. Maybe next week. Getting closer.
Honestly, I don’t think he is too far off but he will not be available tomorrow."

Liverpool like every other club have been hit with injuries to some of its key players. However, the supporters of the Reds will hope Salah gets fit before the game against Manchester City on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
