Manchester United take huge step in bringing Marc Cucurella to Old Tarfford

Manchester United have submitted an official bid for Chelsea's Marc Cucurella on a season loan deal before the 2023 summer transfer window closes.

The Athletic sport journalist, David Orstein confirmed the news on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. According to him, Manchester United have reached out to Chelsea for a loan bid that will see him stay at Old Trafford until the end of this season (2023/24).

Manchester United are in need of a left-back following the injury that was suffered by Luke Shaw. The England International is expected to be out for the first part of the 2023/24 season. Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton during the 2022 summer transfer window, he signed a six-year deal which is expected to keep him with the Blues at least until 2028.

However, Cucurella has been an unused substitute in Chelsea's first three matches of the new season. Ben Chilwell is ahead of him in the pecking order

If the deal sees the light of day, he will be the second player that will join the Old Trafford club this season since Mason Mount completed his move for £60 million.
