Spain and Barcelona forward Lamaine Yamal has taken on an iconic jersey number with his national side Spain ahead of the October 2024 fixture.

Barcelona's young talent, Lamine Yamal, has changed his jersey number for Spain’s upcoming Nations League fixtures against Denmark and Serbia. The 17-year-old will switch from wearing number 19 to donning the prestigious number 10 jersey, as reported by ESPN Deportes.

Yamal is set to take over the number 10 shirt, previously worn by his Barcelona teammate Dani Olmo, who is currently sidelined due to injury. It remains uncertain whether Yamal will retain the number 10 permanently or if it's a temporary change in Olmo’s absence.

This decision reflects the confidence the coaching staff has in Yamal and his growing influence within the squad. Despite being just 17, he has already established himself as one of football's brightest prospects.

Wearing the number 10 jersey against Denmark on Saturday will place Yamal alongside Spanish football legends like Cesc Fabregas and Raúl González, who have both proudly worn this iconic number for La Roja.

In addition to the jersey number change, Yamal, who was instrumental in Spain’s Euro 2024 success earlier this year, is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming matches against Denmark on Saturday and Serbia on Tuesday in the Nations League double-header.
