Super Eagles forward player, Kelechi Iheanacho is reportedly set to return to England to join Championship side, Middlesbrough on a loan deal until the end of this season (2024/25).

Sky Sports News confirmed the news on its official X account on Monday, February 3, 2025, which is the same day as the end of the 2025 January transfer window. Kelechi Iheanacho left Leicester City for Sevilla during the last summer transfer window following the expiration of his contract.

Iheanacho have not been able to break into the team since he completed his move to La Liga and has missed their last two league fixtures against Girona and Valencia, while remaining an unused substitute in the 4-2 defeat to Real Madrid

There are reports that Middlesbrough will pay a huge part of Iheanacho’s wage during his loan spell. It is understood that discussions are ongoing about whether a clause for a permanent transfer will be included as part of the deal.

Iheanacho scored just three goals in 11 games for Sevilla, which came in the Copa Del Rey. He has been allowed to leave temporarily to increase his chances of securing regular game time in the second half of the season
