Karim Benzema Surpasses Thierry Henry's Goal-Scoring Record

Real Madrid's striker, Karim Benzema has surpassed the record held by France's legend, Thiery Henry.

The 33-year-old achieved this feat in the La Liga game between Real Madrid and Real Mallorca on Monday, March 14th, 2022. Benzema now holds the record scoring 412 goals for both club and country.

He scored two late goals and an assist to ensure Real Madrid won the game 3-0 for their fourth consecutive win in the league. Carlo Ancelotti's side have extended their lead at the top of the table over Sevilla who were held to a 1-1 scoreline by Rayo Vallecano.

In the history of the league, no team has ever led by ten or more points and failed to win the league at the end of the season.
