Karim Benzema reveals why he left Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid forward player, Karim Benzema has explained why he decided to the leave Galaticos at the end of last season.

The French international left Real Madrid at the end of his contract to join Saudi Arabia based club, Al-Ittihad. Karim Benzema was speaking in an interview whicHoward posted on the official social media account of Fabrizio Romano.

The forward player confirmed that his decision to leave them was because he never wanted to played against Real Madrid.

What did Karim Benzema say about leaving Real Madrid?

"My decision to go to Saudi Arabia was also because I wanted to leave Real Madrid on top and I didn’t want to ever play against Real Madrid in my life”.

He also confirmed that Florentino Perez was the first person that he told when he wanted to leave Real Madrid.

"Florentino Perez was the first person I called when I decided to leave Real Madrid He didn't quite understand, I told him that the young stars, Vinicius and Rodrygo, were ready."

Karim Benzema had an incredibly successful stint with Real Madrid, winning a whopping 25 trophies during his time with the club. These trophies include, four La Liga titles, 3 Copa Del Rey titles, 5 UEFA Champions League titles.
