Karim Benzema opens up on his struggles in Saudi Arabia

Former Real Madrid player, Karim Benzema have failed to live up to the expectations of the supporters of Al-Ittihad since he completed his move to Saudi Arabia.

The French international has blamed his poor form on the lack of support that he is not getting from his teammates unlike what he experienced at Real Madrid. The 36-year-old was asked why he couldn't replicate the same form in Saudi Arabia as he did during his time in Madrid.

He said,

It’s because it’s not the same game, it’s not the same players, I need to be helped.I need help on the pitch. I can’t win the game alone. I need a lot of things.”

Benzema has scored just nine goals this season, which is 20 short of his former Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. The last time he scored a goal for Al-Ittihad was in December 2023.
