Jurgen Klopp reacts to Chelsea's sixth defeat in a Cup final

Chelsea Football Club have been ridiculed by football supporters around the world following the Blues' defeat to Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup.

The Blues lost the match 1-0 courtesy of a late-minute header by the captain of the Reds, Virgil Van Dijk. That defeat is Chelsea's sixth consecutive in a domestic cup which dates back to 2018 when they lost the League Cup final on penalties against Manchester City.

Liverpool's manager, Jugen Klopp reacted to the defeat in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

He said,

"I am the one who knows what it’s like to lose five or six finals in a row… I can imagine how it was for Chelsea. Everybody tells you, by the way, you lost the last five and that’s a new record. It’s not nice and I really felt for them”.

Chelsea supporters will hope that their team can pick themselves up when they host Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.
