Jude Bellingham Receives the Jersey Number of a Real Madrid Icon

Real Madrid Football Club have officially unveiled Jude Bellingham as the latest player to join the Galacticos ahead of the next football season.

The Englishman was presented in grand style at the club's training center before the members of the press on Thursday, June 15th, 2023. Bellingham expressed his excitement following the completion of his deal from Borussia Dortmund to the home of 14 UEFA Champions League winners.

He said,

I was at the final when Madrid beat Liverpool, that was a huge factor in my decision to join Real. My dad told me about Real Madrid interest last year, 12/15 months ago… and trust me, I got goosebumps and my heart stopped a bit. I was sold when Real Madrid came to my house to meet us. It was huge because they were great with my family, they didn’t try to manipulate them. It was a great moment, goosebumps, you dream of that moment as a kid.

The midfielder also spoke about the privilege and responsibility that has been given to him by giving him the number 5 jersey which was previously worn by the club legend, Zinedine Zidane.

I admire Zinedine Zidane and the legacy he has at the club. I'm not trying to be the same as him, I'm just trying to be Jude. It's a big honor to follow in his footsteps.

The 22-year-old was linked with a move to the top Premier League club, Liverpool last season but he decided to join Real Madrid.
