John Mikel-Obi reveals his role in ensuring Victor Osimhen joins Chelsea

Former Chelsea player, John Obi-Mikel is among the millions of the club's supporters around the world that are looking forward to when the London club will announce Victor Osimhen as a Blue player.

The days of Victor Osimhen at Serie A side, Napoli seem to have ended following the arrival of Antonio Conte who made it clear upon his arrival that he doesn't want to work with the Nigerian striker he would rather have Romelu Lukaku lead the forward line for the former Serie A Champions.

Mikel Obi revealed in a video which has been circulating on social media that he has been in touch with Victor Osimhen trying to convince him to join Chelsea. He also mentioned that one of the Blues legends, Didier Drogba is also among those that wants to see the Nigerian sy Stamford Bridge.

Mikel said,

"We don’t really need somebody who’s going to come in and be feeding and creating chances, We want somebody who can finish, score goals, the tap-ins. Someone like Erling Haaland. That’s something Victor Osimhen will bring to Chelsea.I hope that Chelsea fans will finally see him come to the club. I’ll make sure I send him those text messages and calling, making sure Chelsea is his top priority! He seems like he loves the club. He seems like he wants to come to Chelsea. Didier is also speaking to him and sharing his own ideas, what the club means to us. We all want to see Victor come to the club. If it happens, it happens. It’s a huge transfer fee, but if we can match it and get him to the club, that would be absolutely fantastic.”

There are reports that Chelsea are also working hard to bring Osimhen to the club hence why they decided to opt out of the Samu Omorodion deal which was already close to completion. However, Chelsea fans will keep their fingers crossed to see if the deal will.happen with less than three weeks to the end of the summer transfer window.
