Jadon Sancho breaks his silence on move to Borussia Dortmund from Man United

Jadon Sancho following the completion of his move back to his former club side Borussia Dortmund from Man United has spoken on why the move is important to him.

The England international revealed that his move back to Dortmund is like him returning home once again as he felt at peace and at home with the move.

The England international granted the interview to the in-house media team for Dortmund after the deal was finalized today, Thursday, January 11, 2024. He said, “When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like 'coming home'. I know the club inside and out, I've always been very close with the fans here, and I've never lost contact with those in charge. “I can’t wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League."

Man United have released an official statement on Jadon Sancho's reported move back to Borussia Dortmund in the January 2024 transfer window

The Red Devils in the official statement confirmed that the move has been finalized and the England international will be returning to the German Bundesliga side Dortmund till the end of the 2023/2024 club football season.

Reports of Jadon Sancho making a move back to Borussia Dortmund broke early in the January 2024 transfer window with reports stating that the player was also considering the move and had approved it be finalized.

The statement read, "Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has rejoined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season. The 23-year-old spent four seasons with the Bundesliga team from 2017, registering 50 goals and 64 assists, before completing a transfer to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021. Sancho has made 82 Reds appearances so far, scoring 12 goals across all competitions and winning the Carabao Cup in 2023. Sancho will now return to Germany on a temporary basis as Borussia Dortmund prepare to resume their Bundesliga campaign after a winter break.  The England international of 23 caps leaves with our best wishes for the remainder of this season."

Dortmund also confirmed the move in an official statement as well as unveiling pictures. The statement shared by the Bundesliga side stated, "Borussia Dortmund has signed offensive player Jadon Sancho (23) on loan until the end of the season. The Englishman, currently at Manchester United, signed a loan contract until June 30, 2024 on Thursday."
