Jack Wilshere gets his first managerial role

Norwich City have announced Jack Wilshere as its interim manager until the end of this season ( 2024/25) following the termination of Johannes Hoff Thorup's contract as the club's manager.
Norwich announced the change in managerial role at the club on its official website on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. According to the club, Johannes was sacked after a run of bad results across all competitions leading towards the end of this season hence why Jack Wilshere will take charge of the club.
The statement from the club's sporting director read thus;
"Whilst we made this appointment with a long-term focus and in line with our wider club strategy and direction, unfortunately recent results and performances have deemed it necessary for us make a change. I would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Johannes and Glen. They are both fantastic people who worked tirelessly to help improve and move our football club forward. We all wish the two of them the best in the next stage of their respective careers."
They were in eighth place in the Championship as recently as February and were knocking on the door of the play-off spots. However their recent form have seen them win just one of their last 14 games now sitting 14th in the Championship.
Jack Wilshere will be in charge of Norwich's last two games against Middlesbrough and Cardiff City.
