Ian Maasten reportedly set to leave Chelsea

Chelsea Football Club will be without one of its defenders, Ian Maasten for the next six months, he will be joining Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund.

Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official X account on Tuesday, January 9, 2023. According to reports from Chelsea, Ian Maatsen has extended his contract with the Blues which will keep him at the club until 2027 but there is a buy clause in his deal.

Dortmund are said to pay a £2m loan fee and Maatsen has signed a new two-year extension at the London-based club. Maatsen will hope for more game time at Dortmund so he can showcase the talent that he has got inside him.

The Black and Yellow are close to close to bringing Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho on loan who left during the 2021 summer transfer window for the Red Devils for an initial £73mllion.
